THE BIRTH OF A FEELING:
Metropolitan was born out of OWP, a long-established German Eyewear manufacturer, founded in 1947. We benefit from 70 years of experience and innovation.
Our passion is fueled by exciting moments during the creation of every piece of eyewear. From the first sketch to the finished product, every pair of glasses receives the attention and love it deserves.
In 1927, Fritz Lang created the cinematic masterpiece METROPOLIS:
inspiring, visionary and more relevant today than ever before.
The setting of the city of METROPOLIS was inspired by New York during that period.
Our lookbook was shot by the great photographer Elizaveta Porodina in
New York and reflects the spirit of the city that never sleeps.

We have been rummaging through our native group's old archive boxes and found this puppy. Originally released in 1982, we decided to make it part of the collection.
Style 8258: A blast from the past.
Vintage, not retro! Another discovery from the Eighties, coming to new life in our collection. This fine-rimmed stainless steel frame is re-released now as style 8042 - Oldie but a goodie.
Of course these stunning original designs got the campaign they deserve; Portland based photographer Robbie Augspurger, well known for his artistic old-school photography did an amazing ’80s portrait campaign for us.
